Searching for space is one of the main features of SpaceOut, so we have spent quite a bit of time trying to make it as easy for you to use as possible. This page provides instructions on how to get the most out of the Search Tools available on SpaceOut.
Search Maps
By providing maps as a part of our search results, you’ll able to decide more easily which spaces will be the most convenient for you. Usually when you look for space, you will probably base the search on your own local area by entering your own suburb or postcode as the location. The map displayed in the standard search results provides a visual reference for you to see which spaces are closest to you.
- The maps we use on this site are based on Google's Mapping Tools, so you’ll probably find the functionality on our maps similar to Google.The Tables below provide an overview of the Map and Search Functionality :

How to use the Search Results Map
- Click and Drag on the map to move it around
- Double Click to zoom in - or Double Right Click to zoom out (or you can use the "+" or "-" controls if you prefer)
- Click on he Map, Sat (Satelite) or Ter (Terrain) icons in the top right to change the look of the map
- Click on a Space Marker - an information box will pop up with a summary of that particular space
- From the info box, click on the space you are interetsed in to view all details about that particular space
- Select a checkbox underneath the map for "Space for Rent" or Spaces Wanted" to display one, or the other (or both) types of space markers on the map
- Location - is used to specify which area you want to base the search on - you can enter a Postcode, Suburb, Town, City or even a street name here
- Radius - determines how large an area you are prepared to search and travel to find space (in kilometres)
- Access - the type of access you would prefer
- Storage Type - the type of storage space you are looking for
- Space Size - whether the size space you are looking for is small (< 20m3), medium, or large (>50m3)
- Price per Month - approximate price per month
- Location - is used to specify which area you want to base the search on - you can enter a Postcode, Suburb, Town, City or even a street name here
- Radius - determines how large an area you are prepared to search and travel to find space (in kilometres)
- Click on the Search Help link for a pop-up window with help instructions
- Click on the Advanced Search link to display additional advanced features to narrow down the criteria for your search
- Click on the Search button to carry out the search

Did you know that you can enter a postcode, a suburb, a town, a city or even a street name in the location field to identify where you want your space search to be centered
